Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

In case you missed it last night, the St. Louis Blues managed to earn their first Stanley Cup Final victory in franchise history thanks to Carl Gunnarsson’s overtime game-winner. With the Blues and the Boston Bruins tied at two goals apiece, the Blues absolutely DOMINATED the Bruins in OT and anyone watching had to have known that it was only a matter of time until the Blues cashed in on a goal.

Sure enough, Gunnarsson delivered:

After the game Gunnarsson and the rest of the Blues squad were all smiles, but head coach Crag Berube held perhaps the biggest smile as he relayed a story from the third period intermission. According to Berube, Gunnarsson predicted his OT goal when the two spoke “at the pisser”.

Check it out:

How’s that for journalism!?

A pretty bold prediction for a veteran player who, prior to last night, had NEVER scored a playoff goal in his entire career. But, maybe he as on to something? In the waning moments of regulation with the game tied 2-2, Gunnarsson WIRED a slap shot that rung off the goal post behind Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask. Gunnarsson was locked, cocked and ready to fire.

One thing’s clear, Gunnarsson knew he had a goal in him… all it took was a friendly bathroom encounter with his coach to manifest things. If the Blues go on to win the Cup, this encounter “at the pisser” will go down in hockey history…
