The Penguins continued their streak by beating the best team in the NHL last night. This time it was their supporting cast that were the key contributors.

Rookie Tom Kuhnhackl had a goal and two assists and Bryan Rust had a goal and an assist. Sidney Crosby still continued on his tear by picking up two more assists.

In a game which was a true test, the Penguins did not disappoint and gained some very valuable experience and confidence against a team that they will most likely have to face if they want to go far in the playoffs. On a day where we wrote about how important depth is when it comes to the playoffs, the Penguins showed that they have the right guys in the right places and that all of their lines can produce to pick up the slack. Knowing that other players can chip in when your main guys are having an off night, is a confidence booster that any team would want.

There are still 10 games to be played and with the win, Pittsburgh is now tied with the New York Rangers for second in the Metropolitan division. One thing for sure is the final standings are far from being decided. However, this win will be a big motivator for the Pens who are already playing some great hockey right now.
