A young National Hockey League defenseman has been sidelined after taking a big hit over the week-end.
On Sunday night Chicago Blackhawks defenseman John Hanely delivered a punishing blow to New Jersey Devils defenseman Mirco Mueller, and now we have learned that Mueller has been seriously injured.
Devils reporter Amanda Stein has revealed that Mueller has suffered a fractured clavicle, an injury that will require surgery to repair, and as a result Mueller has been ruled out "indefinitely" by the Devils.
The former San Jose Sharks first round pick had appeared in 13 games for the Devils this season recording 2 points and a plus minus rating of 0 over that stretch.
