Big update from Kris Letang and an injured Penguin.
Keystone Press.

There were some very real and very serious concerns among the Pittsburgh Penguins' fan base after star defenseman Kris Letang was not made available yesterday, and those were only amplified when rumors of Letang holding a press conference today emerged this morning.

Seemingly most pundits jumped to conclusions, assuming that Letang would miss Game 1 of the Cup Final with an injury, but Letang has now addressed those concerns and he seems to believe he's just fine.

Letang was asked if he would be playing and he simply stated "Yep" and when asked if he was injured or had any health issues he simply stated "nope" not leaving much room for interpretation.

It's worth noting that this was not normal procedure, and there may very well be more to Letang's absence yesterday that meets the eye, for example no one would be shocked to learn after the Final that he was playing through an injury. However according to NBC Sports head coach Mike Sullivan has denied any such injury stating that it was simply a maintenance day for Letang.

On a positive and far less confusing note, the Penguins also announced that Nick Bonino had recovered from his injury and would be in the line up for Game 1.
