Big update on Fowler from head coach Randy Carlye.

Veteran defenseman Cam Fowler has been arguably the Anaheim Ducks' most important defenseman this season, but an injury has thus far kept him out of the first round of the playoffs. On Friday head coach Randy Caryle provided an update on his injured blue liner and the news appeared to be very promising.

Caryle stated that Fowler had been through an assessment, presumably with the teams medical staff, and Fowler appears to be healing "rapidly." Caryle also provided a loose timetable for a potential return from Fowler, adding that he could be skating with a week.

On top of producing 11 goals and 28 assists in his 80 games prior to getting injured during a knee-on-knee collision with Flames captain Mark Giordano, Fowler also averaged a whopping 24:51 of ice time for the Ducks this season. Fowler is a critical part of the Ducks defense and any prognosis of a potential early return is huge.
