Big update on injured Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen.

It was a tough start to the Frederik Andersen era in Toronto when the recently acquired young netminder was injured in a match during preparations for the World Cup of Hockey but on Wednesday the Leafs finally got some good news.

For the very first time in the Maple Leafs training camp, Andersen stepped out onto the ice with his teammates today, indicating that he has recovered from his injury at least in part, if not completely. We would suspect that a full recovery was made if he's on the ice for training camp but no official announcement regarding his status just yet.

It's a great sign for the Leafs who will most definitely want him on the ice with their young roster to start the season in order to provide them with a clearer picture of where it is their core is currently headed. 

The Toronto Sun's Terry Koshan was able to snap a quit photograph of Andersen with his teammates.
