It was an amazing season for Philadelphia Flyer's rookie Shayne Gostisbehere who went from being known to hardcore Flyers' fans as a promising prospect who didn't make the team to start the season, to a household name around the NHL and a finalist for the Calder Trophy.

The season didn't end well however, and Gostisbehere was forced to undergo a pretty big hip surgery that obviously raised some concerns regarding the young breakout star. It sounds like everything went well however, and Gostisbehere recently informed NHL.comGostisbehere recently informed NHL.com that he expects to be back on the ice in short order.

"I feel good," Gostisbehere said during an appearance at "Trial on the Isle," a beach event that marked the final day of Flyers development camp. "It's been about eight weeks now. I feel good. Just getting back to it. I'm going out of town for a week here, but when I get back I can finally get on the ice. It'll be good."

That return would match the initial predictions would put him slightly ahead of the 10-12 week recovery window, but in a young high level athlete like Gostisbehere that is to be expected. Now his biggest concern is getting in to game shape with the shortened summer he has been afforded coming of his first NHL season.

"It's getting late in the summer," he said. "I'm getting a little nervous that I'm not on the ice yet. But I'll be up there. Should be fun.
