The Boston Bruins are starting their Sunday morning off right.

On Saturday we reported some rather negative updates regarding both star forward Patrice Bergeron and notorious Bruins agitator Brad Marchand. Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy revealed that Bergeron would miss the contest due to the nagging injury that has already cost him time this season and also revealed that Marchand could miss the game due to the fact that he was fighting through an illness. In fact given the timing of the illness, and the fact that Marchand had already played through it for one game, the news from Cassidy was taken by many as to mean that Marchand would in fact be sidelined for the next game.

Now however that does not appear to be the case and it is starting to sound like Marchand will be ready to go. The Boston Bruins released their official lineup for today's game just minutes ago and although everything is pretty standard there were two names that stood out. First here is the full line up as per the Bruins official announcement:

Forwards:

Marchand - Krejci - Pastrnak

DeBrusk - Coyle - Heinen

Bjork - Kuraly - Backes

Nordstrom - Lindholm - Wagner

Defensemen:

Chara - McAvoy

Krug - Carlo

Grzelcyk - Clifton

The two names of interest are of course Marchand, who appears to be good to go, and the returning David Backes. According to a report from Boston Bruins insider Joe Haggerty it sounds like Marchand is still under the weather with what he calls "flu like" symptoms, but he will play through it regardless. Haggerty also added that Brendan Gaunce will be taking warm ups today as a last minute precaution in case Marchand is unable to go just prior to today's game. In the case of David Backes it will be his first game back since the now infamous Scott Sabourin incident that left both Backes and Sabourin with significant head injuries.

In fact Backes just recently spoke to members of the media about the incident, one that saw him leaving the Bruins bench in tears after it had transpired. It was an emotional moment for Backes and for hockey fans around the world and no doubt fans will be happy to see him return after such a trying start to the season.
