Binnington reveals hilarious reason why there was no way the Blues were losing

In the most stunning scenario of worst-to-first, the underdog St. Louis Blues hoisted the first Stanley Cup in their history in Boston last night. 

Jordan Binnington was nearly flawless in a 4-1 victory over the Bruins as he became the first rookie netminder to win all 16 games to hoist hockey’s ultimate prize.

While I am pretty sure he was motivated by the desire to see his teammates win, the ones he joined as the club’s fourth goalie back in training camp and one who hadn’t made an NHL start prior to January. 

However, he revealed from the dressing room to his teammates why there was no way the Blues were losing to the Boston Bruins last night. Teammate Joel Edmundson couldn’t help but share the hilarious reason on social media late in the night. 

“I wasn’t spending 6k on tickets and not winning”-  Binnington.

On several occasions, the parents of Binnington were spotted by broadcast cameras as the pair appeared nervous as hell throughout the game. 

However, Binnington surely wasn’t nervous - as he often said - and made sure the Blues came out on top.
