BizNasty breaks down the fashion fails of NHL GMs and Gary Bettman

Spittin’ Chiclets co-host Paul “BizNasty” Bissonnette recently stopped by the Sportsnet studios for a little face time with Tim & Sid to break down the fashion fails of some prominent NHL executives.

Check it out:

In other Chiclets news, Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney interviewed Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Pronger who was absolutely FULL of incredible stories.

Put bluntly, Pronger is an absolute BEAUTY.

One story though of particular interest to Toronto Maple Leafs fans was the tale Pronger told of how he ALMOST became a member of the Leafs organization. Flashback to the summer of 2006 when Pronger demanded a trade from the Edmonton Oilers. Ultimately Pronger was moved to the Anaheim Ducks who received an absolute bounty (at the time) for him.

Here’s how the deal went down:

Anaheim Ducks acquire:

Chris Pronger

Edmonton Oilers acquire:

Joffrey Lupul
Ladislav Smid
2007 1st round pick (Nick Ross)
2008 1st round pick  (Jordan Eberle)
2008 2nd round pick (Travis Hamonic)

But here’s the thing… Leafs GM John Ferguson Jr. pushed HARD for Pronger and nearly pulled off a blockbuster for Pronger.

His offer:

Toronto Maple Leafs acquire:

Chris Pronger

Edmonton Oilers acquire:

Tomas Kaberle
Matt Stajan
2007 1st round pick (Lars Eller)
2008 1st round pick (Luke Schenn)

A strong offer that the Oilers were reportedly considering, but demanded that the Leafs include Alex Steen instead of Stajan. No go though for Ferguson. And the rest, as they say, is history…
