The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned goaltender J.F. Berube to the Rockford Icehogs (AHL), the team announced on Friday.

Berube, 26, was drafted 95th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2009. He started 22 games in the NHL with the New York Islanders and the Blackhawks, posting a record of 6-4-3 with a 3.09 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage.

The Blackhawks are taking on the Buffalo Sabres tonight, and goaltender head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed earlier today that Corey Crawford will be back between the pipes.
