Blackhawks to make huge changes to their management staff

It’s been a little over a month since the Chicago Blackhawks parted ways with long-time President and CEO John McDonough. In that month there has been nary a whisper about any other front-office moves from the team, despite overwhelming fan support for a change at the general manager position.

Diehard Blackhawks fans wants change and they want it to start with GM Stan Bowman. Well good news, Blackhawks fans… change is happening. But it’s probably not what you were hoping for.

Yesterday NHL insider Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reported that the Blackhawks are making big cuts to their pro scouting staff.

Check it out:

Chicago had one of the largest scouting staffs in the NHL (if not the largest). They will also be making some cuts, mostly on the pro side.

That quote was taken from Friedman's most latest 31 Thoughts column for Sportsnet.

While it may not be Bowman’s head on a platter, it’s just another example that the Wirtz family (owners of the Blackhawks) aren’t satisfied with the status quo. McDonough has been shown the door. Ditto for Joel Quenneville. Now the scouts are gone. You have to imagine that the next move is coming soon and Bowman will be feeling the heat.
