This Columbus Blue Jackets fan should know there is always hope. He shouldn’t have doubted his favourite team last night and believe me, he will have learned his lesson.

The Blue Jackets rebounded from a dismal start to stun the best team of the league last night in the Tampa Bay Lightning, rallying to beat them 4-3 in Game 1 of the teams’ first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.

Just an impressive comeback. One that this Blue Jackets fan couldn’t imagine possible.

Tampa Bay got out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period, which prompted this fan named Sam Blazer to make a shocking statement. On Twitter, he posted that if the Blue Jackets came back to win this game, he would tattoo the @1stOhioBattery emblem on his ass.

That’s a painful result for the poor guy.

We doubt his statement motivated John Tortorella’s group,  however you have to admit it’s a pretty fun motivation.

Seth Jones made it 4-3 from the slot with 5:55 to play as the Blues Jackets erased a 3-0 deficit after the Lightning scored three times in the opening period. Columbus became the 27th NHL team to overcome at least a three-goal deficit to win a playoff game in regulation.

The Blue Jackets celebrated the extraordinary win, but also the fact that this dude is getting an ass tattoo.

Blazer should have listen to what coach Torts had to say prior to the game:

“You can go through all the numbers, all the things, them against us, but when you play a 60-minute hockey game and you go through the momentum swings and the surges and maybe the big plays out of someone unexpected or a lousy play from someone unexpected, that changes games. So, that’s why it’s always up for grabs.” — Tortorella before the game on the unpredictability of playoff hockey.
