Once known as a power play specialist thanks especially to his powerful and accurate slap shot from the point, defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron has been offered a professional tryout by the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to The Score.
The 35-year-old spent the last season in the Swiss League, and posted 25 points in 43 games. Not known for his exceptional defensive zone coverage, the 5’9” blue-liner could potentially fit in nicely on the bottom pairing of the Blue Jackets or as a 7th defender.
He last played in the NHL in 2012-2013, and had successfully scored 13 goals or more 3 times in his career.
