The NHL and the St. Louis Blues find themselves in the awkward position of having to defend themselves following a controversial pre-game ceremony for Game 3 on Saturday evening.

In case you missed it, when Blues anthem singer Charles Glenn took to the ice to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” there were several flags draped behind him including the Stars and Stripes, the Missouri state flag and… a flag for Enterprise Rent a Car? Uh… what?

That seems pretty classless to me and Enterprise can’t be happy with the negative publicity. I can understand including a Blues flag but a corporate sponsor? This move just reeks of disconnected corporate cluelessness.
