Blues' goal negated as puck painfully deflects off the referee!

St. Louis has no luck whatsoever... this is something the NHL has rarely seen!

Can something go right for the poor St. Louis Blues?!

On Tuesday night, the Blues faced the Florida Panthers in hopes of collecting a win and getting a better feeling about this dreadful season. Nearly 30 games into the 2018-19 season the Blues sit near the bottom of the NHL’s overall standings with just 10 wins in their first 28 games.

On Sunday night the team put forth an embarrassing effort on home ice against the Vancouver Canucks. The Blues dropped a 6-1 decision to the young Canucks and were embarrassed by sensation rookie Elias Pettersson, who put up five points on the night. The Blues were booed off the ice and sounded utterly crushed in post game interviews.

So tonight, the Blues were hoping to get it going, but the contest against the Panthers has shown so far how unlucky St. Louis is...

Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, who was involved in a fight against his own teammate Zach Sanford on Monday, fired a shot, however the puck deflected off the stomach of the referee and the goal was negated.

You can see how it took place in the video below, provided by Fox Sports Midwest

That has to be one of the weirdest thing you've seen in the NHL. Panthers star goalie Roberto Luongo looked completely confused at the sequence of events and was hoping the goal wouldn't count. You cannot score off a referee.

It kind of explains the Blues' season so far this year, doesn't it?
