Florida’s Sergei Bobrovsky was making his first start in Columbus after having spent the previous seven years with the Blue Jackets.

Unfortunately for the star goalie, he allowed four goals on 28 shots Tuesday in a Panthers’ 4-1 loss to Columbus.

After the game, Bobrovsky admitted that it was hard to come back to Columbus and that he cried when facing his past prior to the game at Nationwide Arena.

“Lots of memories. Went to my old apartment last night; cried a couple of times there. It is tough. Seven years is a lot. I appreciate this organization and what they have done for me. It was a long day, lots of memories, good memories.”

Bobrovsky was not the only one grateful in the return: the Blue Jackets put together a video tribute and fans stopped booing him - as they did during the contest - and gave him a standing ovation.

Many of them have been adamant that Bobrovsky was a great part of the team for seven years and was much appreciated by the crowd.

They are just glad that former teammate Zach Werenski recorded a hat trick and got the win for the local team.
