All of the focus in the National Hockey League right now is on the wild trade rumors surrounding New Jersey Devils star forward Taylor Hall, but it is far from being the only legitimate trade rumor going on in the NHL right now.

Earlier in the week TSN National Hockey League insider Darren Dreger revealed that veteran defenseman Zach Bogosian had formally requested a trade as per his sources. The news was delivered with a great deal of confidence on the part of Dreger which indicates to me that he has some very solid information in this regard and the timing of the move is also very telling. Bogosian was made to be a healthy scratch this week under head coach Ralph Krueger and although this is purely speculation on my part I find it hard to believe that the timing of this trade demand going public is just a mere coincidence.

Members of the Sabres media were quick to latch on to the news from Dreger and when Bogosian was asked about the rumored trade demand he did not deny it. To be clear he did not confirm that he had demanded a trade, but the fact that he could not come out and simply say no was rather telling.

"I'm going to let any conversation between myself, Jason and my agent stay" said the veteran blue liner as per the Buffalo News. "Me personally, I'm not going to say anything. I'm going to let everything stay in house."

Bogosian hinted at the fact that this was the first time he had been made a healthy scratch during his 600+ game NHL career and although he did not call out the Sabres coaching staff the fact that he disagreed with the move was plain to see. Even his choice of words indicated that he felt this was a very good period in his career, and not one worthy of a scratch.

"Everyone wants to play," Bogosian said. "So for me, I'm just focused on working hard and getting back in the lineup. I like where my game is going. For the first time in a lot of years, I'm healthy and 100 percent, so I like where I'm going.

This is only speculation on my part, but given his comments since the report of a trade demand I fully believe that Bogosian has in fact demanded to be moved off of the Sabres roster.
