Top forward not himself

The Boston Bruins have lost two out of three games in round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs.  They were victorious in game 1 when Marchand scored a goal in the third period.  Nonetheless he doesn’t believe that he has been at his best in the playoffs.

Marchand is expected to be a driving force offensively for the Boston Bruins.  He has had the best season of his career with 85 points (39 goals, 46 assists) in the regular season.  He was also named one of the top five scorers this season.  However, in Game 3 last night in Boston, Marchand only managed to get one single shot on net and zero points in 21:22 of ice time.

He definitely needs to take advantage of the opportunities that he gets on the ice and make a difference in the game.  That is his job as an elite player.  Even though Marchand has not been a weak player, he is held to a higher standard and therefore is one of the main targets for blame when the Bruins start losing.  It seems as if Marchand has not been himself since his two game suspension early April, but for the Bruins sake, he needs to start performing.  The Boston Bruins definitely need to go back to Ottawa, the series tied.
