Team SHOCKED After Defenseman had his contract rejected by the NHL

Yesterday, Emil Johansson signed a three-year entry level deal that also begins next season, and will skate with the Providence Bruins for the rest of this season on a Professional Tryout agreement.

Here's the explanation from CapFriendly:

"Emil Johansson, who signed his ELC with the Bruins yesterday, had his contract rejected by the NHL due to an issue with payment structure. The SB payment breakdown clashed with his Euro Assignment clause, & could have relieved Boston of their obligation to pay part of his Bonus"

Johansson is a 20-year-old defenseman drafted by the Boston Bruins on the 2014 NHL entry draft.

Scouting report found on Hockey's Future suggest Emil Johansson  "is a good-sized blueliner who is only getting bigger. He has decent puck-possession instincts and can make a solid first pass. In the defensive zone he looks to cut off oncoming forwards along the boards and in the corners."
