Boston picks up huge win against Detroit!

If we were gaging importance of a game from 1 to 10, tonight's game was a 17. It was an absolute must win for the Bruins and they got it done. They beat the Detroit Red Wings to tie them for third in the Atlantic division with 93 points each. They were also able to pass Philadelphia into the final wild card spot. Philly lost in overtime to Toronto.

Now it all comes down to their last game on Saturday. It's actually kind of funny considering Detroit's last game is also at 12:30pm on Saturday. Boston will play host to the Ottawa Senators and Detroit will be at MSG to take on the Rangers. I think it's safe to say that this is another must win for the Bruins. If both teams win, it might come down to tiebreakers depending on what the Flyers do with their final 2 games.

So Saturday will definitely be board watching day to go along with all that nail biting. For sure a little help will go a long way. However, a loss against Ottawa just might cost them a playoff spot.

Talking about the highlights of tonight's game really isn't overly important right now. The points are what is key. The Bruins were successful tonight, we have to hope they will be once again Saturday afternoon and then will have to wait and see what everyone else does.
