A scary scene has taken place in Anaheim tonight where the Ducks were hosting the defending Stanley Cup champions St. Louis Blues.

During the first period of the contest, defenseman Jay Bouwmeester collapsed at the team bench. A few of his teammates, including captain Alex Pietrangelo, noticed his fall and realized something was terribly wrong.

They called over the trainers to get help to Bouwmeester. This is a disrupting scene, check it out:

Both the Blues and Ducks agreed to postpone tonight’s game to a later date seeing what happened to Bouwmeester.

The contest was on the schedule of the Blues’ Dad Trip. According to James Duthie, all the Dads waited for their boys outside the room in silence after it was postponed.

Team insider Jim Thomas reported that Jay’s father Dan managed to get to his son and accompany him to the hospital. His eyes were reportedly open and he acknowledged that he was getting into an ambulance.

We send him our thoughts and prayers as all teams in the NHL did on social media.
