The story has been forgotten by many at this point, although that may not be true for fans in the Boston area, but the decision by Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask to leave the National Hockey League's bubble in the middle of the playoffs is one that will no doubt have repercussions for many years to come.

The most obvious fallout from that decision will be how Rask quitting on his team will impact the opinion of the men who share a locker room with him. The Bruins have all been excellent about publicly supporting Rask and his decision to be with his young family, however I would be lying if I didn't admit that I suspect there will be men in that locker room who will never look at Rask the same way again. Add to that the fact that his future with the Bruins beyond next season was already a big question mark for the Bruins organization and you can start to see a lot of ways in which this could have implications for Rask well beyond the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Not everyone who has an opinion on what Rask did during the playoffs shares a locker room with him however and this week former National Hockey League forward Brandon Prust decided to make his thoughts on the situation public. To say that Prust disapproved of the decision from the Bruins netminder would be a massive understatement. The former NHL tough guy unloaded on his social media on two separate occasions, hurling insults at Rask and calling his character into question.

For the sake of preserving context, and because I don't want these words attributed to anyone here at Hockey Feed, here are Prust's comments unedited and in full:

"Ya he’s a pussy. Don’t ask for 8 million if u want to go home to cuddle," said Prust.

Prust was responding to someone when he made the comment above, but his disdain for Rask was evident even before then. Prust was originally responding to a video clip of Dallas Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin when he first called out Rask, suggesting that the Stars netminder was the polar opposite of Tuukka Rask.

This is definitely a very hot take on the part of Prust, let us know your thoughts on it in the comments.
