Stanley Cup winning goaltender Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins is slated to miss the following three to six weeks with what the team reports as being a broken hand.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury during the World Cup of Hockey last Monday, although the initial assumptions were that he had only hurt his thumb.

The next few weeks could therefore allow Marc-Andre Fleury to regain his throne as the Pens’ starting goalie after Murray’s Team North America bowed out of the tournament. Murray was set to attend Pittsburgh’s training camp, and it looks like he will miss at least the beginning of the regular season.
