Frank Corrado's story is amazing.

The 23-year-old defenceman was a healthy scratch most of the time in Toronto. In fact, he laced his skates in an NHL game only twice this season for a total of 28 minutes of icetime. The hashtag #FreeCorrado became so popular on Twitter, somebody in Dallas even brought a sign with #FreeCorrado on it to the Stars game.

Despite the lack of trust they had in Corrado, Lou Lamoriello and the Maple Leafs managing staff were afraid to lose him on the waiver wire... until now.

A few minutes after they claimed Alexey Marchenko, the Toronto Maple Leafs let go of Corrado.

It's hard to know what the right-handed can bring to the table as scouts could only have seen him this much, but there's a reason why the Maple Leafs weren't eager to let him go.

Should your team make a move and claim him?
