Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen has some major pressure on his shoulders now, pressure he likely did not expect.

A breaking news report from Columbus Blue Jackets insider  Aaron Portzline of The Athletic has revealed that 23-year-old forward Josh Anderson has threatened to hold out if he doesn't get a new contract before the start of training camp.

“The (club) hasn’t really moved much, so there isn’t much to add; it’s all status quo,” said Anderson's agent Darren Ferris said. “There’s no point in attending a camp without having a contract.

“I spoke with (Blue Jackets assistant general manager) Billy Zito last week. On their part, there’s no urgency to sign him right now. If it takes a little longer, it takes a little longer.”

Anderson is coming off by far the best season of his NHL career, appearing in 78 games recording 17 goals and 12 assists for a total of 29 points.
