Breaking: 23-year-old talented forward demands a trade!

Restricted free agent Josh Anderson, who is still waiting for an agreement with the Columbus Blue Jackets, has demanded a trade from the NHL team, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Negotiations have been more and more difficult as The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline reported the team and player were “as little as $150,000 per year (apart) on a three-year contract — but both sides are standing firm on principle.”

Both Darren Ferris, Anderson's agent, and Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen has not commented on a potential trade.

Anderson is one of two restricted free agents across the NHL, along with Andreas Athanasiou of the Detroit Red Wings, who has used the Kontinental Hockey League as leverage in negotiations. He has threatened to play next season in Europe if an agreement doesn't come to fruition.

In 78 games last year, Anderson scored 17 goals and added 12 assists.

Do you think your favorite NHL club should grab Anderson on the market?
