Breaking: 23-year-old UFA defenseman signs a one-year deal!
Keystone Press

The Colorado Avalanche has reportedly agreed to terms of a one-year, two-way deal with defenseman Jesse Graham. The contract is worth $650,000 at the NHL level. The team has yet to confirm the news, but NHL insider Renaud Lavoie posted the information on his Twitter account:

The 23-year-old's entry-level contract expired at the end of last season, and was not offered a qualifying offer by the New York Islanders. He was therefore free to sign where he wanted.

Graham, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2012 draft, has never played an NHL game. Last season, he suited up for both the Missouri Mavericks, in the East Coast Hockey League, and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, in the AHL.
