After a red hot start to the season one young National Hockey League forward has hit a major roadblock.

On Wednesday Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan announced that forward Conor Sheary would miss anywhere from four to six weeks with what is being classified as an "upper-body injury."

Sheary had a break out season in 2015-2016 for the Penguins when he appeard in 44 games for them, but even that breakout season pales in comparison to the dominance he has shown on the ice in 2016-2017. For context, in his 44 games last season Sheary had 7 goals and 3 assists for 10 points, this time around his numbers have spiked with a whopping 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 42 games this season.

It's never enjoyable to see a young 24-year-old player suffer such a serious injury in the midst of the best hockey of his career, but hopefully he will make a full recovery and return in the same form he was showing prior to the injury.
