It was a long summer and an even longer wait for former Detroit Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey but now the wait is over.

The New Jersey Devils announced on Wednesday that they had comes to terms with Quincey on a short-term deal, bolstering their depth and experience on the blue line. They released the following official statement.

The New Jersey Devils today agreed to terms with defenseman Kyle Quincey on a one-year, one-way $1,250,000 contract. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

The big take away here is that the deal is one-way, meaning Quincey has earned himself a guaranteed salary even if the Devils were to feel a demotion to the American Hockey League was warranted.
