Things are going from bad to worse in Montreal. Already without goalie Charlie Lindgren, who was announced as day-to-day with a lower body injury, Al Montoya took a puck to the throat in practice this morning.

As reported by Jean-Francois Chaumont of Journal de Montréal, the Habs backup netminder had to be helped off the ice by a couple of his teammates.

With Lindgren and now potentially Montoya both out, Zach Fucale and Michael McNiven are the only options to backup Carey Price. McNiven hasn’t been given any real opportunity in training camp, but if this is serious, he may be recalled from Laval as early as today.
