The New York Rangers have officially signed restricted free agent forward Brendan Lemieux to a one year deal.

Check it out:

Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but it’s believed that Lemieux was seeking something similar to Pavel Zacha’s $2.25 million salary on the contract he just signed with the New Jersey Devils.

The 23 year old Lemieux was acquired by the Rangers from the Winnipeg Jets last season in a deal that sent Kevin Hayes to the Jets. He was also previously in the Buffalo Sabres organization and was part of the blockbuster 2015 deal that saw the Sabres and Jets hook up on a eight player trade that featured Evander Kane, Tyler Myers and Zach Bogosian.

Lemieux scored 12 goals and 17 points in 63 games split between the Jets and Rangers last season.

The former 2nd round pick, 31st overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is the son of former NHLer Claude Lemieux.
