Defenseman Mark Borowiecki continues to take small steps in his attempt to return from a concussion as he stepped on the ice on Friday morning with some of his Ottawa Senators teammates.

The blue liner missed his 16th consecutive game since taking a shoulder-on-shoulder hit from the New York Rangers’ Brendan Smith on Nov. 19 that sent him crashing hard into the boards.

It’s been a tough season for Borowiecki, who missed two games with an upper body injury in October and five with an illness in early November. In total, he’s played just 12 games, in which he has recorded two goals and an assist.

Let's home things are progressing in the right direction.
