Breaking: Another young NHL star signs long-term deal for HUGE money
Keystone Press

According to a report from Winnipeg Jets insider Jamie Thomas, the team is set to announce a seven-year extension with forward Nikolaj Ehlers worth $42 million.

The deal will pay Ehlers an annual salary of $6 million dollars through the 2024-25 season. Ehlers, a 21-year-old native of Denmark, broke out in a big way last year for the Jets scoring 25 goals and 64 points in 82 games. Playing alongside center Mark Scheifele and sophomore sniper Patrik Laine, Ehlers looks poised to improve on those numbers in 2017-18 and beyond.

What do you think Jets fans? Good deal? If Ehlers is worth $6 million, what’s Laine going to command this summer? $7 million or more?
