Breaking: Avalanche have received “pretty sweet offers” for Matt Duchene.

The Matt Duchene saga seems to be never ending, but there may now be more pressure than ever on Colorado Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic to make a move. 

TSN insider Darren Dreger has just reported that the Avalanche are now receiving some very significant offers for their star center, and considering it's clear that Duchene now wants out of Colorado Sakic may feel the need to finally pull the trigger.

“Up until recently, I would have said he’s definitely gone, there have been some pretty sweet deals, at least that’s what I’m told, (offers) that Joe Sakic should have embraced and made that move."

So what are those offers exactly? While we don't know anything officially and likely won't know until long after the trade has been completed, Mile High Hockey is reporting that the Carolina Hurricanes offered Justin Faulk as well as at least one additional piece in an attempt to acquire the talented forward.

Dreger believes that the Avalanche will regress to the form they showed last season, and as a result he still believes that it's likely Duchene will be traded this season.
