The Colorado Avalanche have announced that they will retire Milan Hejduk’s #23 prior to a game against the Minnesota Wild on January 6th, 2018.

Hejduk’s banner will hang along those of Avs legends Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Peter Forsberg, Adam Foote and Ray Bourque in the rafters at Pepsi Center. Hejduk is an Avalanche lifer having started and ended his career with the team and being a mainstay on the Avs right wing for nearly 15 seasons. He’s the team’s all-time leader in games played with 1020 and potted a remarkable 375 goals and 805 points in his career. He’s a Stanley Cup champion, three-time NHL All-Star and the winner of the 2002-03 Rocket Richard Trophy as the NHL’s leading goal scorer.

An honor well deserved. Good on you, Milan!
