Breaking: Awful news for Caps’ Burakovsky

The Washington Capitals have announced that they’ve placed forward Andre Burakovsky on injured reserve and have recalled forward Chandler Stephenson from the AHL’s Hershey Bears.

Burakovsky appeared to injure his left hand in Saturday’s game against the Florida Panthers. Fans may recall the Burakovsky broke his right hand last season and missed 15 games as a result. The Caps have not yet diagnosed the however, nor have they given a timetable for his return.

Suffice it to say, this is a huge blow to the Caps, as Burakovsky has been counted on to provide the team with offense in its top six this season. In nine games this season, the 22-year-old winger has just one goal and four assists, following a 12 goal, 35 point season in 2016-17.
