Breaking: Babcock makes announcement on Matthews injury

According to a report from USA Today’s Dave Isaac, Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews WILL NOT play tonight’s game in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Matthews also missed Sunday’s 1-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers with what head coach Mike Babcock described as an “upper body thing”. No word on what Matthews’ injury or ailment may be or when he’s scheduled to return to the Leafs’ lineup, but the team’s next game is Thursday night in Minnesota against the Minnesota Wild.
