Breaking: Bad injury update for Phil Kessel.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got some bad news to start the week.

According to a report from Penguins beat writer Josh Yohe there is a very real possibility that the Penguins could be forced to start the regular season without one of their top forwards, Phil Kessel.

While there were no specific details Yohe did confirm that the delay would be caused by the offseason surgery Kessel underwent to repair his damaged hand, leaving one to believe that either complications arose or the original recovery time estimate was too optimistic.

The good news here is that while it does sound like Kessel could miss some time, Yohe stated it would be close, and that would indicate it won't be a lengthy absence from the talented forward.
