Breaking: Bad news for two Sens forwards!

The Ottawa Senators have placed forwards Mark Stone and Gabriel Dumont on the injured reserve, as reported on Twitter earlier today by hockey insider Steve Lloyd. Stone is dealing with a knee injury, but it's unclear what Dumont is dealing with at the moment. He played seven minutes last Thursday in the Senators' last game before the All-Star break.

Drafted 178th overall by Ottawa in 2010, Stone has 18 goals and 26 assists for a total of 44 points in 44 games played so far this season. He played 293 games in the NHL so far, producing a total of 231 points. The 25 year-old forward also added 13 points in 27 playoff games.

Dumont, 27, was drafted 139th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2009. He played 85 games in the NHL with the Canadiens, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Senators, scoring four goals and five assists for a total of nine points. The Senators claimed him off waivers from the Lightning on November 22nd.

The team also announced that they have recalled forwards Chris DiDomenico and Colin White and defenseman Erik Burgdoerfer.

The Senators are currently seventh in the Atlantic division with a record of 15 wins, 23 loss and nine loss in overtime or in shootout. 

They will play their next game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
