The Chicago Blackhawks have made a special announcement moments ago.

The organization has proceeded to sign their 2016 second-round NHL Entry Draft pick Alex DeBrincat to a three-year deal.

DeBrincat currently leads the Ontario Hockey League with 17 goals in 14 games this season playing with the Erie Otters, and the 18-year-old figures to be a part of the Blackhawks’ organization roughly around the age of 20.

Two seasons ago, the 5’7” right wing sniper managed 51 goals and 104 points in 68 games while last year, he scored the same amount of goals with three less assists in eight less games.

His OHL career stats are something to behold, as DeBrincat has posted a whopping 119 goals and 121 assists over 142 games.

The 39th overall pick also does relatively well in winning close to 60% of his faceoffs when called upon to do so, and was named the 2015 OHL Rookie of the Year after his 104-point season.
