Breaking: Blockbuster announcement from the NHL regarding the upcoming expansion draft.

We are often quick to criticize the National Hockey League when they make terrible decisions, and for that reason we try to give them praise when they actually get something right, this is one of those times.

Fans were seriously disappointed when the league initially announced that the lists of protected players would be kept secret. This was desgined to prevent anyone outside NHL organizations from learning the identity of the player's protected by their favorite teams, and perhaps more important;y the players teams chose not to protect.

There is good news today however, whether due to fan pressure or merely realizing that it was a poor business decision the National Hockey League has reversed it's stance. NHL.com reporter Dan Rosen is now reporting that the list WILL be released to the media and by extension the public and furthermore that the date for that release is expected to be June 18th.

This is some of the best news all year for fans of the league, and should help make the expansion draft, and the days leading up to it, all the more exciting.
