The St. Louis Blues fans might have been relieved to see that forward Ivan Barbashev got away with a questionable hit in Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup on Thursday.

However now, the Blues forward has to pay.

Barbashev has been suspended one game by the NHL Player Safety department for his illegal hit to the head of  Boston forward Marcus Johansson.

Barbashev was not penalized for the hit despite the fact that Johansson did go down to the ice.

It is the second suspension for the Blues during the Stanley Cup final as teammate Oskar Sundqvist was banned one game for his hit during Game 2 on Matt Grzelcyk.

Grzelcyk remains out with an injury in the series.

The Blues won a controversial game last night in Boston after Tyler Bozak seemed to trip Bruins forward Noel Acciari in the Boston zone. The play allowed David Perron to pick up the loose puck and beat netminder Tuukka Rask to score the eventual game-winning goal.
