The St Louis Blues have announced that they’ve hired nine time Stanley Cup champion Larry Robinson as the team’s new Sr. Consultant to Hockey Operations.

Robinson is truly one of the game’s all-time greats. He appeared in an incredible 13 Stanley Cup Finals, winning the chalice nine times. Following his Hall-of-Fame career Robinson transitioned from the blue line to the bench, acting as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils before being hired as a head coach with the Los Angeles Kings in 1995. Since then, Robinson has bounced around the NHL in various positions, experiencing his biggest success with the Devils where he won Stanley Cups in 200 and 2003, as well as in 1995.

Robinson will tasked with helping Blues GM Doug Armstrong get the team get over the playoff hump that they've experienced the past few seasons. While the Blues made it all the way to the Western Conference Final in 2016, a disappointing performance in the second round against the Nashville Predators still hangs over the franchise.
