The Columbus Blue Jackets' Jared Boll will face a potential suspension.
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has announced that Boll will have a hearing on Thursday for his hit on Philadelphia Flyer Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. Boll was ejected from Tuesday's night win over Philadelphia, much to the displeasure of his head coach John Tortorella, for a late hit that was certainly worthy of at least a 2 minute minor for interference.
However the officials on the ice determined the hit was a major, and made the decision to eject Boll from the game as a result of the hit, and now the National Hockey League has indicated it believes a larger punishment could be warranted for Boll.
We've included a video of the hit below, do you feel it warrants a harsher penalty?
