The rumors surrounding Colorado Avalanche star forward Matt Duchene have really gained a great deal of momentum over the last week or so, and this update may be the biggest one yet.

On Wednesday TSN insider Darren Dreger was a guest on TSN 1290 radio in Winnipeg, and during that interview he touched on the ongoing rumors surrounding Duchene, and more importantly surrounding the likelihood of him being traded.

“It’s going to happen," said Dreger as per Fanrag's Chris Nichols. "The question is is it today, is it tomorrow, is it next week. But the belief is from both Matt Duchene and from the Colorado Avalanche that they are going to find something."

The most interesting comments from Dreger however came when he revealed that he has spoken to to Duchene's agent Pat Brisson, and it appears that Brisson dropped a bombshell. According to Dreger Brisson has informed him that it won't be long before Duchene is moved.

“Pat Brisson still seems fairly confident that something is going to happen in the very near future.”

Dreger believes that general manager Joe Sakic is going to be able to get the return he wants for Duchene now that he may have softened, at least partially, on his ask.

“When you look at the Avalanche blueline, they just need help. Left shot, right shot, it shouldn’t really matter. Sakic just needs to bring in a good body, and he’s going to get that in return for Duchene.

This now seems like just a matter of time.
