Breaking: Bortuzzo grabs Wilson and gives him no choice but to take part in heavyweight bout!

We all saw it coming.

The Washington Capitals were facing the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night and it smelled like payback. In the Capitals’ final preseason game, forward Tom Wilson blindsided Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist with a high hit. Wilson was given a match penalty, and Sundqvist suffered a concussion and shoulder injury. The league then made quite the statement, suspending him for the first 20 games to begin the regular season, even though it was reduced later on in the campaign.

Robert Bortuzzo's anger had not been reduced... The Blues defender had been chirping Wilson all evening long, and finally during the second period, the two men dropped the gloves in a heavyweight bout.

We all know Bortuzzo was trying to make amends for the Wilson hit on Sundqvist.

It seemed inevitable.

Before the contest, Wilson sat down and had a deep interview with Andy Strickland of Fox Sports Midwest in which he revealed that he is now afraid to make hits on the ice. He even said he would be sitting out pre-season games against the Blues from now on...

“Honest talk with Tom Wilson today. Says it’s gotten to the point he’d rather not make a hit in fear of it being considered illegal. Says it’s 100% in his head throughout a hockey game,” Strickland posted on his Twitter account.

Bortuzzo clearly didn't care about what Wilson had to say about changing his style of play and took matters into his own hands. Many believed there are players like Bortuzzo in the league because there are players like Wilson in the NHL...

Players across the NHL are probably aware that no one is to mess with the Blues or else Bortuzzo will remember and catch up later...
