We have a pretty big story to share with you, although at the time of this writing nothing is official just yet.

According to a breaking news report from TSN National Hockey League insider Bob McKenzie it now appears as though NHL veteran Brian Boyle will be making his return to the NHL, and furthermore he will be making that return official today. According to McKenzie the veteran center has held talks with multiple NHL teams and is expected to sign a new deal today that will be worth somewhere south of $1 million for the 2019 - 2020 NHL regular season.

It is unclear at this time which teams have been in talks with Boyle, so it is hard to pin down where the veteran forward could end up. That being said McKenzie did add that Boyle himself has viewed Florida as his potential destination which does narrow things down a bit. Obviously there are two teams in the state of Florida, the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning, and currently only one of those teams appears to be a potential contender. If Boyle's intention is to return to a contending team that would seemingly leave only the Tampa Bay Lightning as his prefered destination, although it's possible that he is merely comfortable playing out his final season with the Panthers regardless of their ability to contend.

This is of course a developing story so please stay tuned for more updates.

Update: Brian Boyle is officially a member of the Florida Panthers.
