The Boston Bruins have received some bad news on Sunday morning, and when you consider how positive the news has been for the St. Louis Blues it makes it that much more difficult to take.

For Boston fans who were holding out hope that defenseman Matt Grzelcyk would be available for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final those hopes were squashed on Sunday morning when Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy took to the podium to address the assembled members of the media. During that question and answer session Cassidy would reveal that Grzelcyk would be sitting out Game 6, but the additional details he provided regarding Grzelcyk's status were an even greater cause for concern.

According to a report from Sportsnet's National Hockey League insider Chris Johnston, not only is Grzelcyk not available for Game 6 of the series, but he may not be good to go for Game 7 either. That is because according to Johnston, Cassidy informed him that Grzelcyk is still going through the National Hockey League's concussion protocol and has not been cleared by medical professionals to return to action. Obviously until he is cleared of the concussion protocol the Bruins will not so much as have the option to use him, a very bad sign for the Bruins indeed.

There will be one more change made to the line up according to Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press. Whyno is reporting that Steven Kampfer has been put on the sidelines by head coach Bruce Cassidy and in his place will be Karson Kuhlman. That will once again leave the Bruins with just 6 defensemen, which likely means that their top 2 pairings are going to be extremely busy on Sunday night, and 12 forwards for Game 6.

The absence of Grzelcyk will be made all the more frustrating due to the fact that many believe he was injured by an illegal hit that came courtesy of Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist. The Blues 4th liner was suspended for a single game as the result of his actions but he has since returned and played in this series, some Grzelcyk has been unable to do.

Add to that the fact that the Blues got a big boost to their line up this morning and its easy to see why fans in Boston might be frustrated.
