The Boston Bruins have just suffered another injury at a rather inopportune time.

According to an official report from the Bruins organization, veteran Bruins forward Chris Wagner has been injured and will be unable to appear for the Bruins this evening when they face off against the Detroit Red Wings. According to the Bruins announcement Wagner has been sidelined by a lower body injury and has been listed as day to day by the organization.

The news comes off the heals of Wagner winning the NESN 7th Player award thanks in large part to his fan friendly play style as well as what has been the best season of his NHL career thus far. There is no way that the Bruins were expecting him to see the kind of use he got this season when they signed him prior to the season and the 12 goals he has recorded for them this season are twice as many as his previous career high and have been a welcome surprise to be sure.

Unfortunately this injury risk to put a stop to the momentum that Wagner has built up thus far this season, but I would imagine that his confidence will remain at an all time high when he gets back from this injury.
